‘BE BOLD & FREE’ Abstract Painting Workshop
Woohoo our BE BOLD & FREE Abstract Painting Workshop was a big success! Nothing excites me more than to call forth the creativity and free spirit from people!
There are many highlight moments during the sketching, gestural mark making, color wash and collage exercises. These exercises came from my years painting and they help us to get into our right brain, engage with our emotions and express ourselves with our bodies. Look how much fun we had together and of course the gourmet pastries from Little Rosie Parnell brought out the best smiles!!Kitty expressed that she was able to connect with her emotions during the mark making and it’s surprisingly satisfying. Joanne discovered her artistic voice and now believes she is also an artist. Alice enjoyed the beautiful setting, connected with her passion for painting and found the secret to balance emotion and logic during art-making. I’m super excited to see the students trust in their own unique marks and got into the flow so easily. No one makes marks or uses the brushes the same way just like everyone’s finger print and voice are uniquely different from anyone else. We just need a nurturing mindset and supportive environment to unleash our creative voices.
Some lovely feedbacks from participants ~
Kitty Fan:
It was a very well planned event for a group of people with diverse backgrounds. Coral took us through a number of interesting warm up exercises which allowed us to leave our preconceptions at the door and really engage with the moment, focusing on our emotions and the gestures that our body makes on paper. The space was beautiful and calming, and the three hour immersive workshop flew by very quickly. Both Mila and I felt the therapeutic effects of being in such wonderful environment and company.
Joanne Cheng:
I wanted to express my deepest gratitude for the wonderful painting workshop you conducted. It truly felt like being a child again, discovering the joy of playfulness. The opportunity to explore various techniques and having ample time and resources to try new things was incredibly enriching.
The workshop provided a liberating experience, allowing me to let go and let my emotions and subconscious guide my creative process. It was empowering to realize that I, too, can be an artist, something I never used to believe.
Both my 8-year-old daughter and I had an amazing time immersing ourselves in the beautiful space you created for self-exploration and expression. The relaxed setting fostered a sense of freedom and creativity that we will cherish.
Thank you once again for your guidance and the passion you shared throughout the workshop. It was a truly memorable and transformative experience. We look forward to participating in more of your workshops in the future.

I joined Coral’s “Be Bold & Free” workshop in a raining Sunday afternoon. Coming to the workshop not knowing what to expect, but I was immediately felt welcomed by this beautifully decorated location filled with Coral’s amazing artworks. Coral was warm and charming just like her artworks. Throughout the workshop, we experimented mark making, sketching and painting with different techniques. It was well informed and enjoyable that 3 hours seemed to went by quickly. My take home lesson from the workshop was to find the right balance between your emotion and logic when creating your artworks. This was an awesome experience which I’d recommend to everyone.
Thanks to Little Rosie Parnell for hosting this special workshop as part of my UNFURLING POP UP exhibition. Art, community and gourmet pastry. How much more can you ask?! If you are keen to experience my one of a kind creative workshop in the future, email me to join the waiting list.
