BIG SMALL Summer Edition Pop Up

  • Coral Noel Yang Art Auckland New Zealand (map)

Super delighted to be part of a well curated group show in New Plymouth along with other 13 artists. I have one large original artwork Heart’s Delight along with four small works taking part in the show. Heart’s Delight is part of my Flow of Life Collection. It captures the essence of being embraced by the flourishing vitality of nature—the depth of the woods, the wonder of the vapour, and the gentle whispers of renewal. The golden tree in the top left represents the burning bush, ablaze with passion yet never consumed, its fire fueled by pure delight and unyielding joy. It stands as a beacon of timeless inspiration, rooted in the presence of the Divine.

My small works are embellished works of my “Study Sketch”. My sketches are integral to the creative process behind my large originals. I begin by designing with pencil sketches, exploring the abstract geometry and composition of each piece. Next, I creates colour studies—Study Sketches—on small raw canvases using acrylic, soft pastel, and coloured pencils, the same mixed media I employ in my larger works. These Study Sketches have been enhanced from their initial rough forms. While retaining their original raw essence, they are now refined and complete for appreciation and enjoyment. Together, they offer the audience an intimate glimpse into my creative journey, deepening you understanding of my artistic process.
