HEARTSTRINGS OF A NEW DAWN
HEARTSTRINGS OF A NEW DAWN" embodies the themes of love, hope, and dreams, central to the RED subset of the Tokimeku collection. The geometric patterns in the piece evoke the swirling vapors of Tamagawa's hot springs, while subtly echoing the graceful curve of a heart. Bold splashes of color, thickly applied paint, and ink lines suggestive of bedrock and land formations create a striking contrast with the delicate layers of vapor. This artwork symbolizes the arrival of a new day, where the heart resonates with fresh melodies, brimming with renewed possibilities and joy. A white, scribbled 'e' pays tribute to the 'Love' sign my father created, which adorned my parents' bedroom during my childhood.
This painting is crafted using acrylic and soft pastel on raw canvas, fusing the soak-stain technique pioneered by the 20th century American abstract expressionist Helen Frankenthaler with the artistic traditions of Asian water-ink that have been a cherished part of my upbringing.
