RETURN TO REST
RETURN TO REST is a reinterpretation of the natural marvel known as "Suibotsurin" in Japanese (水沒林), or "the Submerged Forest," discovered during a journey to Akita, Japan. Suibotsurin manifests between late May and early June at Lake Shusen, following the thawing of thick winter snow from the mountain peaks, which floods the lake. This phenomenon envelops willow trees, submerging them up to their trunks, creating the illusion of them floating and sprouting directly from the deep waters. RETURN TO REST is framed against the backdrop of lush mountains shrouded in dense mist, with the vibrant young foliage emerging from the mirrored lake waters. This scene evokes an overpowering sense of peace and tranquillity, capturing our longing to return to a place of serenity and repose.
