SUN HALO I - CONVERGE
SUN HALO I - CONVERGE marks the inception of the three-part Sun Halo series. Inspired by an otherworldly encounter with the Sun Halo phenomenon during a family picnic at Tamagawa Hot Spring, it captures the awe-inspiring power of the event, with brilliant light illuminating the sky and iridescent colours encircling the ring. The bold sweeping line symbolises determination, signifying that the time for convergence has arrived—it's a piece about connection, breakthrough, and resolve, conveying the sense that all the pieces are finally falling into place. Beneath the embrace of grace, every element converges and finds its rightful place."
A sun halo, or 22-degree halo, is an atmospheric optical phenomenon caused by sunlight interacting with ice crystals suspended in thin cirrus clouds. These hexagonal ice crystals refract and reflect sunlight, creating a circular halo around the sun at an angle of approximately 22 degrees, often accompanied by vibrant colours, on the inner and outer edges.
