SUN HALO III - A Golden Lullaby

NZ$825.00
sold out

Inspired by a Sun Halo phenomenon and its ethereal beauty witnessed at Tamagawa hot spring, this painting is reminiscent of the imagery of a tender embryo cradled in a cosy womb, drifting with innocence and dreams. It symbolises possibilities and the birthing of wonder, evoking anticipation for the new. Pale pink and violet hues emerge from the light teal blue, while thick gold oil stick marks add depth against the white blooms over the Payne's grey at the bottom layer.

A sun halo, or 22-degree halo, is an atmospheric optical phenomenon caused by sunlight interacting with ice crystals suspended in thin cirrus clouds. These hexagonal ice crystals refract and reflect sunlight, creating a circular halo around the sun at an angle of approximately 22 degrees, often accompanied by vibrant colours, on the inner and outer edges.
