FRAGRANCE OF THE NIGHT

NZ$650.00
sold out

Part of my journey of discovering my aesthetic story was recalling the scent of the night jasmines that bloomed in the alleyway. When starting on this painting, my question was: how do I paint fragrance? Then I thought of mist and fog... perhaps they would make good visual representation since we often associate scent with vapour that comes from a lit candle.

I love the simple design of the piece, the serenity, the glowing of the jasmines, the light trails made by the fireflies. I feel enthralled by the evocative atmosphere.
